My philosophical work centers in normative ethics, practical ethics, and feminist philosophy; I'm particularly interested in understanding when and why it's morally permissible to violate an individuals rational autonomy. In my dissertation, I examined the role of autonomy and consent in sexual ethics. I'm currently writing papers about the ethics of manipulation and the ethics of doctors giving placebos to their patients.
I studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology as an undergraduate at Princeton University before switching fields and receiving a masters degree in Philosophy from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from New York University. Before becoming a Greenwall Fellow, I was a Faculty Fellow at the Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University.
