Aida Asmelash (MBE Student)
My name is Aida Asmelash, I am a medical doctor by training who specialized in Public Health. For the past 12 years I worked as a clinical researcher in HIV/AIDS and HIV related opportunistic Infections in Botswana, Southern Africa. I focused on prevention of mother to child HIV transmission (PMTCT), Optimization of Antiretroviral Therapy and Tuberculosis diagnostics and therapy.
I developed an interest in health and ethics while in medical school. During the course of my career, I observed the importance and the gaps that exist in the field of bioethics in clinical research, health policy and health care delivery. I would like to help close or narrow that gap once I complete my training.
