Summer Programs


In June 2017 the Berman Institute offered various week-long courses for students and professionals alike. Courses are held on-location in Baltimore, MD at the Berman Institute’s home in Deering Hall. Prior coursework in bioethics is not required.


Bioethics Intensives (BI2) Program
June 5-9, 2017

These week-long courses provide engaging, non-degree learning opportunities for anyone interested in exploring bioethics in an interactive, intensive course format. Courses are taught by the Berman Institute’s world-renowned faculty and explore both theoretical and applied aspects of bioethics.

Summer Institute in Bioethics
June 12-16, 2017

Launching in 2017, the Summer Institute offers for-credit courses taught by Berman Institute faculty, exploring today’s pressing moral issues. The courses are open to all and applicable to students of broad educational and professional backgrounds.

The June 2017 courses were:

  • PH.700.701 Sex, Drugs, and Bioethics (2 credits)
  • PH.700.702 The Ethics of Making Babies (2 credits)
