Maria Merritt Inducted Into Delta Omega Alpha

The Berman Institute congratulates core faculty member Maria Merritt, PhD, for her induction into the Delta Omega Alpha chapter of the national public health honor society.

Originally founded at the at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health (now the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) in 1924, Delta Omega now has 59 chapters and nearly 6,000 members, consisting of public health faculty, students and alumni.

Dr. Merritt, who also has a faculty appointment in the Bloomberg School’s Department of International Health, has research interests in bioethics, global health ethics, international research ethics, public health ethics, moral philosophy and moral psychology. She was previously recognized for excellence in teaching as principal instructor of the course Ethics of Public Health Practice in Developing Countries, (221.616.01) 4th term 2011-12.
