  Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics Invites Applications for a

  Research Program Coordinator
General Description:

Faculty at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and Bloomberg School of Public Health have received an NIH grant to conduct empirical research on informed consent. The project will develop simpler methods of informed consent for research and will test them experimentally within six ongoing clinical trials at Johns Hopkins. The successful applicant will work directly with the two faculty leading this project and will have primary responsibility for the day to day operations of the project

 

Responsibilities:

·        Coordinate day to day operations of project

·        Work with bioethics investigators to develop the simpler informed consent forms and assessment tools

·        Assist with all submissions to the IRB and assume responsibility for annual IRB progress reports

·        Work independently and with clinic staff/faculty to identify best protocols for data collection

·        Draft and revise study instruments

·        Oversee data management

·        Interpret data

·        Conduct interviews

·        Co-author and draft research papers/articles/annual reports to funder

·        Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.  Applicant should have a f amiliarity with bioethics issues/topics and/or clinical research.   Three years of research experience preferred, but additional education beyond Bachelor's degree may be substituted for experience.   Experience with statistical analysis and/or statistical software preferred but not required.   Applicant must be detail oriented and also have:   excellent written & verbal skills; excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks; ability to complete work independently; library and online research skills; and computer skills, including familiarity with word processing, data entry programs & research tools.

 

Salary Range :  $35,000
