The Stem Cell Policy and Ethics (SCOPE) program is a
collaborative effort of the Johns Hopkins
Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Johns Hopkins
Institute for Cell Engineering. The SCOPE program is designed to
address the increasing importance – in both the conduct of research
and the development of clinical applications – of interactions
between the fields of stem cell science, ethics, and public
policy. The goals of the group include facilitating the
ability of the public to benefit from advances in cell engineering in
morally responsible ways, anticipating moral and policy challenges in
stem cell science and cell engineering and providing opportunity for
careful and interdisciplinary analysis of these challenges that will be
of assistance to both policy makers and the public. The SCOPE stem cell
news roundup presents a weekly survey of the science, policy and ethics
of stem cell research. Please note: if this email is not helpful to you or
